Dignified, soft, and comfortable space
While the restaurant has a dignified appearance, the interior has a soft temperature. At the counter, you can savor the sound of knives, the steam, and even the gestures of preparation with all your senses, while at the tables you can relax while engaging in conversation. The atmosphere at Nakazen is elegant, yet relaxed, and is unique to Nakazen.
In 2009, we hung a noren in Kitashirakawa.
Nakazen, founded in 2009 in Kyoto's Kitashirakawa, was opened by an owner who honed his skills at a renowned Kyoto restaurant and set out to create a kappo-style restaurant that could be enjoyed more casually and freely. With sure techniques that bring out the best in the ingredients, the owner's friendly conversation, and the proprietress's warm attentiveness, those accumulated qualities have led to many repeat visitors who come back whenever they visit Kyoto.
